Daimler AG (Germany) and stock company “Uzavtosanoat” have signed an agreement on setting up a bus manufacturing joint venture.
The joint venture will be manufacturing under Mercedes-Benz brand name high comfort tourist buses, low floor city buses and midi buses for Uzbek market as well as for export to the neighbouring countries.

All buses meet the Euro 3 emission standard which has been effective in Uzbekistan since January 2010.
In the new joint venture, with a statutory fund of US$ 8 million, the Daimler subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Buses Central Asia GmbH will own 51 percent of the shares, whereas Stock Company “Uzavtosanoat” will own 49 percent of the shares.
Stock Company “Uzavtosanoat” will provide the joint venture with production facilities. Daimler Buses will deliver the Mercedes-Benz chassis, while the bodies will be built in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz’ partner – Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV).
The full-scale production capacity of the plant will enable to annually manufacture minimum 600 buses, with the possibility to gradually increase the production volumes. The first vehicles are to be assembled in September this year.
Stock Company “Uzavtosanoat” was set up in March 1994. The company incorporates more than 30 big and small enterprises including those with participation of foreign capital and technologies from South Korea, Turkey, Italy, Germany and USA.
